I tuned in to watch Nik Wallenda walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope last night. And if I’m completely honest… I was expecting some Grade A wacko who wanted to make a name for himself. I was pleasantly surprised to tune in and see a calm, cool, collected guy on the brink of making history.
As Nik stepped onto the wire and reached the lip of the Falls, water raging at 600,000 gallons per second 200 feet beneath him, the most amazing thing happened. He told everyone to chase their dreams. To not stop in the face of fear or adversity. To realise that you can accomplish absolutely anything you set your mind to.
He continued walking across the wire, facing winds and water and battling the elements, and he was greeted by Canadian immigration officials when he reached the other side of the Falls: “What is the purpose of your visit?”
“To inspire people around the world.”
Well, Mr. Wallenda… you just did.
